Greenwash Guerrillas tackle major greenwash leakage at Shell HQ

Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 01/04/2008 - 11:05

On 3rd January 2008, at about lunch time, the LRT Greenwash Guerrillas discovered a major source of greenwash at Shell HQ in Waterloo, London. The Guerrillas entered the lobby for an inspection but were so repelled by the Greenwash that they had to leave (the security assisting their escape).

The police helpfully showed up to show the Guerrillas where the public pavement started and the infected area began and helped out by making the scene look more official and scary. The public were very receptive to warnings of contamination and seemed quite concerned. A lot of flyers were given out and people seemed interested to know what was going on, with a few people running away after heeding warnings of contamination.

bulldozer occupiedMore than thirty climate activists, including members of the Rising Tide network, joined with local residents from Merthyr Tydfil in stopping excavation work for a full day on Britain’s biggest ever open-cast coal mine at Ffos-y-fran in South Wales.

On the morning of 5th December, activists evaded police and security before taking over the 1,000 acre site on a hilltop near Cardiff. Dressed as clowns and polar bears, they chained themselves to bulldozers and other heavy machinery to prevent work on the mine and unfurled large banners. (CLICK ON 'read more' TO SEE VIDEO).
