2001 WORST YEAR ON RECORD FOR TYPHOONS IN TAIWAN

Already this year Taiwan has suffered eight typhoons which have killed a record 300 people. The National Science Council has openly blamed climate change for the dramatic increase in typhoon activity.

WORST FLOODS IN IRAN IN 200 YEARS: 120 DEAD
10,000 people were evacuated in North East Iran, and 2,000 homes were damaged in the heaviest flooding in 200 years. This follows severe flooding in the affected areas just three months ago. Those floods, the worst flooding in 30 years, killed 32 people.

600,000 PEOPLE AFFECTED BY CENTRAL AMERICAN DROUGHT
In parts of Central America there has been little or no rain since April. Nicaragua has lost half its crops. El Salvador and Honduras have declared the drought a State of Emergency.

South Korea has mobilized 130,000 troops to dig wells in a desperate attempt to find water. Major famine is predicted for North Korea. There are record breaking droughts as far north as Mongolia. Some areas in North China have had no rain for over 100 days

U.K. HAS WETTEST 12 MONTHS IN 500 YEARS
During the last 12 months the UK's rainfall has been the heaviest since record began in 1735. Meteorologists say that under previous "normal" conditions the UK would only get this much rain once every 500 to 750 years. Looks like there's no "normal" weather any more. So much for all those people (and the Daily Mail) who claimed global warming was going to make us into the Costa Del Sol.
