Activists die in the National Portrait Gallery over association with BP(23-02-08)Hello.

Early this afternoon a group of people from Rising Tide went to the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square....and died. 7 corpses lay in the main corridor to the Portrait Award Exhibition. Maybe the died when the realised that BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery was not currently on. Nonetheless, BPs association with a national institution such as the Portrait Gallery is another example of greenwash.

Visitors to the gallery were very receptive to the message being given and a lot of flyers passed around very quickly. After a while the corpses arose, adorned in t shirts with slogans such as 'art not oil' and 'BP-Fossil Fools'.

Just beyond the front door the protesters again hit the ground in the front entrance, much to the dismay of staff, but the police helpfully moved the protesters to a far more obstructive part of the path.

Again, all were resurrected and went upon their way. Most were seen as pirates and oil later that day.

pictures and video to follow.
