Conference of Parties (COP9) 1-12th of December - Milan

Do you want to get involved in one of the major demonstrations against climate change? From 1-12th of December the Conference of Parties (COP9) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is taking place in Milan, Italy. The Kyoto Protocol, once conceived as a way to mitigate climate change, has been co-opted by the same companies that created the problem. Through its so called 'flexible mechanisms', the protocol has become just another means of making a profit for them, whilst climate chaos continues unabated. However, it will not be so easy! Italian groups are organising a convergence centre that will serve as a place for public education and as a space where affinity groups will be able to organise actions. A group of UK activists is going to have a meeting soon to make plans and organise actions. If you are in the UK and you want to be part of it get in touch as soon as possible.
