In May 2002, Newcaslte
Rising Tide helped organise the fabulous Newcastle Community Green Festival,
attended by several thousand people. Here's a taste of it:

The
bands, soundsystems, lighting and beer pumps of the festival were
powered by alternative energy sources: a model to follow. In this
picture, leg-muscles are helping power the sounds of the Dub Dome. |

Newcastle
Rising Tide organised a children's parade through the city centre
on the theme of climate change. Children dressed as jellyfish and
banged drums to advertise the festival. |

Sea
creatures like Octopuses, Starfish and sharks were painted by local
children and carried in a great wave through town. They represented
the rising sea levels, and the sea creatures that will inherit our
earth. |
